Porter's Rare Heritage Turkeys

Fall Fire

Fall Fire

This is a variety that we developed and named. Their genotype is (b'b' cgcg Rr) Homozygous for a black winged bronze base as well as gray, then heterozygous for red.

The fall fire has more of a reddish coloration than the sweetgrass variety.

The more extreme red color of the Fall Fire is due to the presence of a single red gene, which the sweetgrass does not have.

Besides the fall fire phenotype, they will also produce Sweetgrass and a Red Sweetgrass which will breed true.

Approx. weights: Old Toms 30 lbs. and Old Hens 15 lbs.
